| How long will it take to get divorced? |
Once we receive your payment, you will able to immediately download your documents. From there it normally takes one to one and a half month (depending on the availability of the court). |
| What will the total cost be? |
Our fee amounts to R980.00 for option 1 (where you will also have to pay the sheriff +-R200 to serve the documents on your spouse), and R1940 for option 2. There are no other costs. |
| Do I have to appear in court? |
Yes. No divorce can be finalized if without at least the Plaintiff (you) appearing in court. |
| What will happen in court? |
The judge will ask you a few question. For example, the reasons for the divorce. You will be on the stand for about 3 to 5 minutes. Nothing to worry about. |
| What if my spouse does not want to sign the deed of settlement? |
This system was designed for uncontested divorces where both parties are willing to sign the deed of settlement. If your spouse does not want to sign it, then it is not an uncontested divorce. You should then rather contact us or consult with an attorney. |
| What if I dont know the whereabouts of my spouse? |
The Rules of court requires that your spouse be informed of the divorce action against him/her. The sheriff have to serve the summons on him/her personally. If you don't know his/her whereabouts, you can apply to court for permission to serve the documents in another way e.g. advertisement in newspaper. You will have to consult with an attorney if this is the case, or you can contact us |
